Heels wear out easily, replace them before you ruin your shoes. Whether the heels are leather or rubber, replace them and match the original as closely as possible unless you want otherwise.
Remove worn heel caps with shoe pliers. Select a new heel cap that matches the original size and colour and then securely nail it to the sole. Alternatively, the edges are trimmed and sanded to the shape of the heel.
